Spreading, prostrate or clumping shrub. Leaves to 25 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, leathery, linear or rarely forked, lower surface with 2 obscure ridges. Flower clusters spidery, 1-sided, erect, terminal, branched and on spectacular stalks to over 1m long. Flowers reddish, yellow or grey towards the tip, tip blackish; winter to spring. Style red. Fruit slightly rough.
