Shrub to 4 m tall. Leaves holly-like, waxy-blue, ovate to obovate, wavy-edged with needled teeth. Flower cluster erect or hanging, sometimes branched. Flowers cream becoming pink, hairless and shiny outside, bearded inside; winter to summer. Style pale pink to red. Fruit hairy at first.
