Black Toothbrushes

Shrub to about 2 m tall. Leaves to about 12 cm long, entire or with 5-9 narrow linear segments, margins rolled under. Flower clusters erect, unbranched, 1-sided. Flowers yellow to grey or pink; winter to early summer. Style black, red, or yellow with a green tip. Fruit hairy with brown stripes or blotches.
