Spreading sometimes prostrate shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves to 15 cm long, 10 cm wide, deeply divided 1-2 times with needle-pointed teeth, sometimes upper surface waxyblue. Flower clusters mostly hanging and unbranched, 1-sided. Flowers reddish pink, or orange with reddish striping, hairy outside, hairless inside; winter to summer. Fruit with reddish stripes and blotches.
