Prostrate spreading or erect shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves entire, oblong to narrowly ovate, to 3 cm long, 1.5 cm wide, margins rolled under, lower surface more or less hairless. Flower clusters sometimes branched. Flowers red or pink with cream or yellow tips, mostly hairless outside, bearded above the middle inside; winter and spring. Style red. Fruit hairy with dark stripes or blotches.
