Tree Hovea

Shrub to 3 m tall. New growth rusty-hairy. Leaves elliptic to lanceolate, 3-10 cm long, 1-3 cm wide. Flowers in profuse axillary clusters, mostly deep bluish purple with white blotch at base of standard, rarely all white; spring. Fruit pod more or less round, to about 1.5 cm long, hairless, containing 1-2 seeds.
