Yellow-eyed Flame Pea

Shrub to 1 m tall. Leaves narrowly ovate, elliptic or obovate, to about 2 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, thick, twisted, pungently pointed. Flowers in open terminal clusters of about 4 flowers. Corolla orange to red with a large yellow blot; spring to early summer. Fruit pod stalked, brown when mature, to about 1 cm long, slightly hairy.
