Potentilla atrosanguinea D.Don

Perennial herb with stems to about 50 cm tall. Leaves of 3 ovate to obovate, sharply toothed leaflets, white-hairy below. Flowers mostly red, sometimes yellow or orange, petals notched; summer to autumn.

var. argyrophylla (Lehm.) Grierson & Long has yellow flowers. Syn. P. argyrophylla Lehm.
