Hybrid Burr

A rugged, mat-forming plant. Leaflets 5-9 or more, each to about 1 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, waxy-blue below. Flower heads to about 1 cm wide, expanding to about 1.5 cm wide when in fruit.

Plants grown under this name are sometimes A. novae-zelandiae Kirk. Other species and cultivars offered include the New Zealand species, A. buchananii Hook. f. and A. microphylla Hook. f. (sometimes grown as the cultivar 'Purple Carpet' which is also called 'Copper Carpet' or 'Kupferteppich'). The cultivars 'Blue Haze' and 'Blue Carpet' are also listed.
