Shrub to over 1 m tall. Leaves narrowly lanceolate to ovate, 5-10 mm long, long tipped. Flowers often prolific along the branchlets, generally hanging; often flowering through the year. Flower tube at least as long as the lobes at the tip, white, pink or red, often flowering through the year.

Grows well in swampy or sandy areas.

Cultivars include 'Bega' and 'Spring Pink' as well as white and double flowered variants.

Leaves narrowly lanceolate; flowers generally hanging along the branchlets.
