Perennial to 40 cm or so tall and with woody base. Leaves greyish with star-shaped hairs. Basal leaves narrow, widest above the middle, to 10 cm long, entire. Flowers in flattish clusters; petals notched at the tip, yellow; spring. Fruit almost flat, to about 1 cm long; seeds 2 in each chamber. [Alyssum saxatile L.]
