Banana Passion Fruit

Climber with hairy stems and leaf stalks. Leaves deeply 3-lobed with saw-toothed margins. Flowers about 6-8 cm wide with sepal tube to 8 cm long, pink. Fruit mostly 6-10 cm long and 4 cm wide, yellow, edible.

South American Andes

Requires cool conditions and possibly higher elevations than Melbourne for reliable fruiting.

Occasionally naturalised in damp gullies of E Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
