Red Passionflower

Climber, the young stems grooved and downy. Leaves oblong with toothed margins, hairy below. Flowers to 12 cm wide and vivid scarlet, the stamen filaments purple at the tip and pale at the base; mostly winter. Fruit to about 5 cm long, ovoid to roundish, orange or green.
