Phymosia Desv.

Shrubs or small trees. Leaves simple, palmate. Flowers in more or less flattened clusters in the axils of the upper leaves. Petals red to mauve. Epicalyx of 3 bracts, free or united at the base. Fruit a schizocarp with up to 60 parts.

Seeds or cuttings.

Flowers deep reddish-purple, petals spreading.
