Fallopia sachalinensis (Schmidt) Ronse Decraene

Perennial to 4 m tall with green bamboo-like stems. Leaves 15-40 cm long, 10-25 cm wide, broad ovate, base rounded to heart-shaped. Flowers greenish yellow in branched clusters. Nut 2-3 mm long. [Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. &Zucc., Reynoutria sachalinensis (Schmidt) Nakai]

Naturalised at Foster, Victoria and Penrose, New South Wales.

Tall, bamboo-like stems; leaves mostly with heart-shaped bases becoming more truncate at and above the flower clusters; leaf tips pointed, but not acuminate; flowers greenish yellow.
