Thelocactus setispinus (Engelm.) E.F.Anderson

Body solitary or occasionally clustering, mostly shortly cylindrical to about 10 cm tall. Ribs 12-15, well defined, sometimes wavy. Areoles with central spine having a distinctive pale hooked tip. Flowers yellow with red throat. Fruit bright red with white flesh. [Ferocactus setispinus (Engelm.) Benson]
