Tiger Pear

Spreading shrub to 35 cm or so tall. Stem segments cylindrical at the base, slightly flattened towards the tip, to 20 cm long and easily shed. Spines 2-3 and mostly 1-3 cm long. Flowers orange-yellow, to 4 cm wide. Fruit to 3 cm long, becoming purplish.
