Lepismium monacanthum (Griseb.) Barthlott

Stems mostly flattened except at the base. Flowers orange.

Two other species with similar stems have different flower colours — L. houlletianum (Lem.) Barthlott from E Brazil with toothed stems and creamy flowers, and L. micranthum (Vaupel) Barthlott with wavy-edged stems and white flowers.
