Ferocactus fordii (Orcutt) Britton & Rose

Body solitary, more or less spherical. Ribs to about 20 with low tubercles. Central spines 4-7, the lowermost flattened, hooked or twisted. Flowers purplish. Fruit yellow or tinged red.
