Echinocereus fendleri var. kuenzleri (Castetter, Pierce & Schwer.) L.D.Benson

Body solitary, globular or elongate to 15 cm high, 10 cm wide with 10 prominent ribs. Areoles whitish usually (with 1 long blackish central spine) and 4-6 whitish radial spines 6-9 mm long. Flowers pink to purplish 5-10 cm long.
