Echinocereus engelmanii (Engelm.) Lem.

Body clustering, cylindrical, to 25 cm high, 5-7 cm wide with 10-14 ribs. Areoles 1 cm apart with 2-6 central spines to 7 cm long and 10-12 radial spines to 1 cm long. Flowers pink-red to 8 cm long, 7 cm wide.
