Echinocereus berlandieri (Engelm.) Haage

Body prostrate 1.5-2.5 cm wide with 5-7 ribs. Areoles 8-20 mm apart with 7-12 radial spines to 3 cm. Flowers purplish to 2.5 cm long, 2 cm wide. [E. blanckii misapplied]
