Corylopsis spicata Siebold & Zucc.

Shrubs to 3 m tall. Leaves 5-10 cm long, ovate to obovate, the tip shortly pointed; lower surface waxy and densely hairy; veins in 6-8 pairs. Flower cluster 4-6 cm long, to 1.5 cm wide with the flowers gathered at the tip; early spring. Flowers 5-12, yellow. Stamens with pink filaments; anthers brown to reddish. Fruit capsule hairy.
