Heavenly Bamboo

Shrub 2-3 m tall. Leaves alternate, to 50 cm long. Leaflets numerous (mostly 60-100 per leaf), stalkless, lanceolate, each 4-8 cm long. Flowers in large terminal clusters to 30 cm long, white, about 5 mm wide; anthers yellow. Sepals many. Petals 6. Stamens 6; summer. Ovary with 1 ovule. Fruit a round, red berry; July.
