Coniogramme Fée

Greek konios - dusty, gramme - line; referring to the arrangement of the sori along the veins.

Rhizomes creeping, scales narrow, tough, brown. Sterile and fertile fronds similar. Fronds large, divided 1-3 times, mostly soft-textured but occasionally firm, the ultimate segments large, sometimes finely toothed, veins mostly free. Sori elongated along the veins; indusia absent.

c. 20 species from Africa, Polynesia north to Japan, 1 in Mexico.

Fronds with large, stalked and long-pointed segments; sori well spaced and elongated along the veins; indusia absent.
