A hybrid between Taxus baccata and T. cuspidata. A spreading bush with the branchlets olive-green, often reddish above. Bud scales blunt and slightly ridged. Leaves often spreading horizontally.
Generally grown as a range of cultivars.
Garden Origin.
Upright, columnar to conical, generally narrowing to the tip. Origin uncertain - either raised as a seedling at Kissena Park (formerly Parsons Nursery), Flushing, Long Island, New York, USA, or c. 1900 in the Hicks nursery, Westbury, New Jersey, USA from seed of T. cuspidata 'Nana'.
