Rhizome short and prostrate with an erect tip; scales long, narrow, brown. Fronds to over 1 m long, mostly divided twice; stalk with hairs and warty scales at the base. Blade with both surfaces of the main axis and side-branches covered with spreading hairs, the lower surface also with pale brown scales. Sori small, roundish, on the veins. Indusium small, mostly persistent.
Needs shelter and warmth.
