Fronds more than 50 cm long, divided three times at the base, branches few. Segments extremely thick, shiny above often with a few teeth at the tip; veins netted.
Needs shelter and warmth.

Pteris faueriei Hieron. from SE Asia, China, Japan and Taiwan is occasionally cultivated; it has small fronds to 50 cm long, duller above and with the veins free.
