Microlepia platyphylla (D.Don) Sm.

Rhizome creeping, thick, covered with dark brown hairs. Stalk thick, hairless. Blade divided twice, mostly more than 1 m long and more or less triangular in outline, axes hairless except in grooves. Sori terminal on veinlets in a marginal notch.

Needs shelter and warmth. Recognition: Large fern with large, shiny segments; stalks over 1 m long.

China, Japan, SE Asia, Philippines to India.
