Hypolepis elegans Carruth.

Rhizome to 5 mm wide, covered with pale brown hair. Fronds to 2 m long. Blade to nearly 1 m long, divided 4-5 times, broadly triangular in outline. Stalk stout and, at the base, dark brown with colourless non-glandular hairs, slightly rough. Sori near the margin. Indusium consisting of a toothed, reflexed marginal flap.

Can grow in cool areas.

Large, broad fronds with thick stalks and blades lacking glandular hairs.
