Rhizome long-creeping, hairy. Stalk yellow to brown. Fronds erect or arching, to 4 m long but mostly 1-2 m long. Blade generally divided twice, pale green above, waxy blue-green below. Sori marginal, continuous or interrupted but often not reaching the tip or base of the segment. Indusia formed from the reflexed segment margins.
Can grow in cool areas.
NT, SA, E Australia, temperate Southern Hemisphere.
Characteristic frond shape with rounded lobes and bat-wing-like paired segments near the main stalk; sori elongated along frond margins.
