Ray Water Fern

Rhizome short, erect with dense covering of narrow, brown scales. Stdrile and fertile fronds different. Fronds erect or widespreading, linear in outline; midrib scaly. Sterile fronds with lower segments free from one-another, mostly 1-1.5 cm long. Fertile fronds in clusters, borne almost vertically, narrowly linear in outline, segments held upwards, the main axis with many scales and hairs.

Will tolerate cool conditions.

NSW, Vic., Tas., NZ, New Guinea.

Short, round-tipped sterile segments.
