Coreopsis lanceolata

Usually perennial herb to 60 cm tall, more or less glabrous. Stems erect or ascending, simple or branched. Leaves and leaflets lanceolate or spathulate, to 10 cm long,margins entire or once or twice divided, petiolate. Capitula solitary, to 6 cm across, longstalked; spring to early summer. Ray florets yellow. Disk florets yellow. Achenes obovate, 2-3 mm long, with broad membranous wings. Pappus of 2 tiny teeth.

C. lanceolata L. from the USA is an erect or ascending perennial to 60 cm tall with narrow,mostly entire leaves on lower stems, capitula to 6 cm across, all florets yellow, and smooth, broad-winged achenes with a pappus of 2 tiny teeth.
