Allium caeruleum Pall.

Herb with spherical bulbs. Leaves 2-4, linear, 3 angled, stem sheathing, shorter than stem. Inflorescence 20-80 cm, stem solid, spathes 2, umbel spherical or hemispherical. Flowers numerous, 3.5-4.5 mm long, cup-shaped; summer. Tepals blue with a darker midvein. Stamens shorter than tepals, united basally.
