Perennial evergreen shrub to about 1.2 m; stems woody, branched. Leaves reduced, linear, papery, subtending the cladodes. Cladodes cauline, alternate, ovate to broadly lance-shaped. Inflorescence 5–8-flowered. Flowers globular to urn-shaped, spreading; summer to late autumn. Tepals to 3.5 mm long, cream. Fruit orange-red, 1–2-seeded.
