Subshrub to 40 cm tall, slender or cushion-forming. Stems ascending, branched above, woody below. Leaves obovate to spathulate, to 10.5 cm long, entire or rarely slightly toothed, hairy, petiolate. Capitula to about 4 cm across, long-stalked; summer. Involucral bracts in about 2 layers, folded along midrib. Ray florets golden yellow, often with purplish lines, deeply 3-toothed. Achenes cylindrical to slightly 4-angled. Pappus of 7-11 scales. [Odontospermum maritimum C. Bolle.]
