Herb with spherical bulbs. Leaves 3-7, linear, basal, shorter than stem. Inflorescence 40-100 cm, stem solid, spathes 2. Flowers numerous, 7-9 mm long, star-shaped; summer.Tepals dark purple, spreading, deflexed. Stamens shorter than tepals, united basally.
