Worsleya procera

Bulbs over 10 cm wide with long above-ground necks to 1 m long. Leaves to 1 m long, evergreen in 2 ranks, strap-like and with translucent margins, waxy blue. Flowering stem hollow, 2-edged, with 2 free bracts. Flowers 4-14, regular, large, showy and with short tubes, lilac-blue; winter to spring. Stamens 6, bent down and then up, shorter than the lobes. Ovary inferior and with 3 chambers, each with numerous ovules. [W. procera (Duch.) Traub. & Moldenke]

Brazil

Known from only a few populations in the wild and fairly rare in cultivation.
