Allium nigrum L.

Herb with ovoid bulbs. Leaves 3-6, linear, basal, flat. Inflorescence 15-35 cm, stem solid, spathe 1, 2 or 4 lobed, umbel compressed or hemispherical. Flowers numerous, bulbils sometimes present, 6-9 mm long, star-shaped; summer. Tepals white or pale-lilac, midveins greenish. Stamens shorter than tepals, united basally.

Southern Europe, Asia Minor, northern Africa, Cyprus.
