Mammillaria thornberi subsp. yaquensis

Freely clustering, body elongate, 1.5 cm wide and to 7 cm high without milky sap. Tubercles prominent. Axils sparsely woolly. Central spine solitary, 17 mm long, reddish-brown, tip darker and hooked. Radial spines 18, 5-6 mm long, cream, tips brown, fine. Flowers white or pale pink with pink central stripe, to 2 cm long and wide. Fruit scarlet.
