Leaves with a yellow edge. Origin unknown. The hybrid e. _ebbingei Boom (e. macrophylla _ e. pungens) is occasionally grown; it has larger, more rounded leaves like e. macrophylla but they are distinctly more silvery below and also have brownish scales.This hybrid was raised at The Hague, Holland, in 1928 from a batch of seedlings of e. macrophylla and int. by s.g.a. Doorenbos in 1939; it has probably been confused with e. pungens in Australia.
