Accepted name: Bambusa multiplex

Culms several metres tall and to about 2.5 cm wide, tending to bend over towards the tip with age, mostly nearly solid, becoming yellowish. Leaf blades linear-lanceolate, mostly about 10 cm long and 1 m wide but variable, silvery hairy below. Sheaths usually eared, with smooth bristles and a triangular blade. Culm nodes have a white waxy bloom below them and there are numerous thin branches at each node. [B. multiplex (Lour.) Steud.]
