Herb to 0.6 m or so tall. Leaves in clusters towards the tips of the stems, linearoblong to about 25 cm long, 10 cm wide, green with yellow variegations above, pale green below, the tip with an abrupt point. Swollen articulation (pulvinus) on the membranous sheath. Flowers white.
