Clumping fan-like perennial herb to over 2 m tall with a thick rhizome. Leaves linear, to 2 m long and 7 cm wide with a prominent midrib. Flower cluster to about 60 cm long, white to pale or dark pink; spring to autumn. [Orthothylax glaberrimus (Hook. f.) Skottsb.]
