Accepted name: Nidularium amazonicum
Plant stemless, spreading by rhizomes. Leaves 15-20 per rosette; blades narrowed to the base, about 4.5 cm wide, finely toothed, reddish below; sheaths elliptic. Inflorescence in a head, densely bipinnate, the spikes few-flowered. Flowers about 4.5 cm long. Sepals free, pointed. Petals cupped greenish-white bracts below.
