Ananas nanus (L.B.Sm.) L.B.Sm.

Very similar to a. comosus, except for its small size (nanus -dwarf). Leaves are up to 40 cm long, 1.5 cm wide. Fruit is 3-5 cm long at maturity, borne on a slender erect stem to 60 cm high.

Central Brazil

Often grown as a novelty due to its small size, suitable for small pot culture and can be nurtured through winter more easily.
