Leaves distichous, rarely spirally arranged, 30-70 mm long, 15-30 mm wide, dull green with tuberculate white domed tubercles. Syn. G. verrucosa Mill.

G. bicolor Haw. var. liliputana (v. Poelln.) v. Jaarsveld from S Africa has leaves distichous or spirally arranged, 15-100 mm long, 8-14 mm wide, blue-green with irregular white blotching, smooth. Syn. G. liliputana v. Poelln.
