Yellow Asphodel

Rosette herb with thickened roots from short rhizomes. Inflorescence to 130 cm, unbranched, leafy. Leaves tapering to linear, sheathing. Flowers numerous, spreading, to 5 cm wide; spring to summer.Tepals yellow.

Grown in gardens as an ornamental spring flower in full sun to light shade.

Mediterranean Europe.
