Austral Grass Tree

Stems to 3 m long, often branched. Leaves 1-3 mm wide, thick, waxy blue, rhombic in section. Flower spike mostly 1-1.8 m long, 2-6 times a long as its stalk. Flowers Jul-Dec.

SA, NSW, Vic, Tas.

Examples of grass trees can be seen in most of the major botanic gardens. At Melbourne there are some fine tall old specimens in the Eastern Lawn.
