Large rosette to 2 m high and 4 m wide. Leaves numerous, spreading and recurved, sword-like, 1.5-2.5 m long, 8-10 cm wide; tip 6-7 cm long, 7-15 mm wide, brown. Scape 3-5 m long, erect. Flowers 10-16 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, red, pink-red, or white. Fruits ellipsoid to ovoid, 7-10 cm long, 4-5 cm wide.

Widely cultivated in gardens and parks in temperate Australia.
